Is the Rinnai Infinity A26 the Best Hot Water System for a Family Home?

Is the Rinnai Infinity A26 the Best Hot Water System for a Family Home?

Choosing the right hot water system for your family home is an important decision. It needs to provide enough hot water for everyone while being energy-efficient and reliable. The Rinnai Infinity A26 is a popular choice for many New Zealand families, thanks to its robust features and consistent performance. But is it the best option for your household? Let’s explore what makes the Rinnai Infinity A26 a standout choice and when it might be the perfect fit for your family. What Is the Rinnai Infinity A26? The Rinnai Infinity A26 is a continuous flow gas hot water system designed to provide endless hot water on demand. It’s specifically engineered to meet the needs of medium to large households, making it an excellent choice for family homes. Key Features of the Rinnai Infinity A26 Here’s why the Rinnai Infinity A26 is a favorite among homeowners: 1. Endless Hot Water Say goodbye to running out of hot water. With a continuous flow system, the A26 heats water as needed, ensuring your family has a steady supply for showers, dishes, and laundry. 2. Efficient Performance The A26 boasts a 6-star energy rating, making it one of the most efficient hot water systems available. It only heats water when required, reducing energy usage and saving on gas bills. 3. High Flow Rate The A26 delivers 26 litres of hot water per minute, which is more than enough for multiple showers or appliances running simultaneously. 4. Compact Design Its sleek, compact design saves space, fitting neatly outside your home without taking up valuable room indoors. 5. Durability and Reliability Designed for New Zealand conditions, the A26 is built to last, even in challenging environments. Is the Rinnai Infinity A26 Right for Your Family Home? The Rinnai Infinity A26 is an excellent option for many family homes, but there are a few factors to consider: 1. Household Size For families of 4-6 people, the A26’s high flow rate ensures there’s enough hot water for everyone. If your household is larger or has unusually high water usage, you might want to explore larger capacity systems like the Rinnai Infinity A32. 2. Existing Gas Infrastructure The A26 requires a 20mm gas line for optimal performance. If your home has an older or smaller gas line, it may need upgrading, which could increase installation costs. 3. Hot Water Demand If you regularly run multiple showers, washing machines, and dishwashers at the same time, the A26’s capacity will handle this with ease. For lower-demand households, a smaller model like the Rinnai Infinity A20 might suffice. Benefits of Choosing the Rinnai Infinity A26 Upgrading to the Rinnai Infinity A26 offers a host of benefits for families: Installation Considerations When installing a Rinnai Infinity A26, it’s essential to work with licensed plumbers and gasfitters. Proper installation ensures: At Regency Plumbing, we handle everything from assessing your home’s requirements to completing the installation, ensuring a smooth transition to your new hot water system. The Verdict: Is It the Best for Your Family? The Rinnai Infinity A26 is one of the best hot water systems for family homes in New Zealand. Its efficiency, high flow rate, and durability make it a reliable choice for households with moderate to high hot water demand. However, if your household needs are exceptionally large, you might consider other models like the Rinnai Infinity A32. Ready to Upgrade? Can I Replace My Bosch Hot Water System with a Rinnai Infinity?

Can I Replace My Bosch Hot Water System with a Rinnai Infinity

If you’re considering replacing your Bosch hot water system with a Rinnai Infinity, it’s an excellent step towards greater energy efficiency and modern hot water technology. The Rinnai Infinity offers features that make it a standout upgrade, but transitioning between these systems requires careful planning to ensure compatibility and a smooth installation process. So, Can You Replace Your Bosch Hot Water System with a Rinnai Infinity? In this blog, we’ll cover the benefits of replacing your Bosch system, the key considerations, and how professional plumbers and gasfitters like Regency Plumbing can make it hassle-free. Why Replace Your Bosch with a Rinnai Infinity? While Bosch hot water systems are reliable, replacing them with a Rinnai Infinity can offer significant advantages: 1. Energy Efficiency Rinnai Infinity units heat water only when needed, minimizing energy waste compared to traditional systems and potentially lowering your utility bills. 2. Endless Hot Water With a continuous flow system, you’ll never run out of hot water—even during high-demand times like back-to-back showers or simultaneous appliance use. 3. Modern Features Rinnai Infinity units include features like temperature control, improved safety systems, and more compact designs that free up space in your home. Is Replacement Easy? The good news is that replacing a Bosch hot water system with a Rinnai Infinity is often straightforward, as both systems are gas-powered and share similar infrastructure requirements. However, here are some important factors to consider: 1. Gas Line Compatibility Both Bosch and Rinnai Infinity systems typically require a 20mm gas line to operate efficiently, so in most cases, your existing gas line will already meet the requirements. If your system is older or has been altered, our team can assess and confirm compatibility. 2. Power Supply Needs Most Bosch systems and all Rinnai Infinity units require electricity for ignition. If your current Bosch system is an older model or has a non-standard power setup, minor electrical work may be needed to ensure a seamless installation. 3. Plumbing Adjustments While both systems are gas-powered, the physical configuration of pipes and fittings may vary slightly between Bosch and Rinnai units. Professional installation ensures everything is connected correctly and optimally. The Replacement Process When you replace your Bosch system with a Rinnai Infinity, here’s what to expect: Step 1: Consultation and Assessment Our team will inspect your existing system, gas line, and electrical setup to confirm compatibility and identify any necessary adjustments. Step 2: System Removal Your old Bosch system will be carefully removed, and any modifications to piping or fittings will be made to prepare for the Rinnai installation. Step 3: Installation The new Rinnai Infinity is installed, with all connections thoroughly checked and optimized for performance. Step 4: Testing and Commissioning We’ll test the system to ensure everything works perfectly, providing you with endless, efficient hot water. Costs Involved in Replacing Your System The cost of replacing a Bosch hot water system with a Rinnai Infinity depends on several factors, including: On average, you can expect the replacement to cost between $2,500 and $4,000, including installation and any minor upgrades. Why Choose a Rinnai Infinity? Rinnai Infinity systems are designed for long-term performance and reliability, offering a modern solution to meet your household’s hot water demands. The switch not only enhances efficiency but also adds value to your home with a sleek, energy-saving system. Can I Upgrade from a Vulcan to a Rinnai Infinity?

If you’re considering replacing your Vulcan gas hot water system, upgrading to a Rinnai Infinity is a smart move.

If you’re thinking about upgrading your Vulcan Freeloader gas storage hot water cylinder to a Rinnai Infinity continuous flow system, you’re on the right track to a more efficient and modern hot water solution. However, it’s important to understand the key differences between the systems and the potential challenges involved in the upgrade process. Here’s what you need to know about making the switch and whether it’s the right option for your home. Why Consider Upgrading from a Vulcan Freeloader? The Vulcan Freeloader has been a reliable hot water system in many New Zealand homes, but as technology evolves, newer systems like the Rinnai Infinity offer substantial benefits: 1. Improved Energy Efficiency The Rinnai Infinity only heats water when you need it, compared to the constant reheating required by storage systems like the Vulcan. This can significantly reduce your energy bills. 2. Endless Hot Water Say goodbye to running out of hot water. The Rinnai Infinity provides continuous hot water, no matter how many showers or appliances are in use. 3. Compact and Space-Saving Unlike the bulky Vulcan Freeloader, the Rinnai Infinity is a sleek, wall-mounted unit that saves valuable space. The Challenges of Upgrading to a Rinnai Infinity While the Rinnai Infinity offers excellent performance, upgrading from a Vulcan Freeloader to a continuous flow system isn’t always straightforward. Here are the main challenges you might face: 1. Electricity Requirement The Vulcan Freeloader operates without any electrical connection, while the Rinnai Infinity requires power for its ignition system. If there’s no existing power supply near your current hot water system, additional electrical work will be needed, increasing the complexity and cost. 2. Gas Line Upgrade Most Vulcan Freeloaders were installed with a 10mm gas line, which is sufficient for a storage system. However, the Rinnai Infinity requires a 20mm gas line to supply the higher gas demand. If your gas meter is far from the hot water system, upgrading the gas line can be expensive and logistically challenging. 3. Installation Costs Between the electrical and gas line upgrades, the cost to switch to a Rinnai Infinity can sometimes outweigh the benefits, particularly if your current setup requires extensive modifications. A Simple Alternative: Upgrade to a Rheem Stellar If the cost or logistics of switching to a Rinnai Infinity are prohibitive, upgrading to a Rheem Stellar gas storage hot water cylinder may be a better solution. Here’s why: Is Upgrading Worth It? The decision to upgrade from a Vulcan Freeloader to a Rinnai Infinity depends on your specific situation: Both options offer significant improvements over the old Vulcan Freeloader, so it ultimately comes down to your budget, priorities, and the feasibility of making the switch. Get Expert Advice from Regency Plumbing If you’re considering an upgrade, Regency Plumbing can help. Rheem Water Heater – They’re Hard To Beat!

RHEEM LOGO

RHEEM WATER HEATER – A NZ FAVOURITE! For many years people have been installing the Rheem water heater. Rheem water heaters and hot water cylinders are very common through out Auckland. Every day we change a number of Rheem hot water systems, pulling out old Rheem hot water cylinders that have sometimes been installed since the 60’s. The quality of the Rheem water heater is phenomenal. Of course all the old ones we pull out are just low pressure and basic, but it is still a testament to the quality. WHAT RHEEM WATER HEATER IS MOST COMMONLY INSTALLED NOW Of course with the demands and need for high pressure times have change. Not only people want high pressure but also endless hot water. Not everyone is fussed about having a gas Rheem hot water heater, and some people still prefer electric. For some people gas gives them funny feelings. Hey’ that’s all good. No problem, there is heaps of options in gas hot water heaters, and electric. The most common by far is the Rheem Integrity. This is the continuous flow gas hot water heater. Never ending hot water, high pressure, and pretty sleek. They just fit on the outside wall so you also gain a precious cupboard back. THE BENEFITS OF A RHEEM INTEGRITY – RHEEM WATER HEATER Endless hot water High pressure Strong hot showers Very efficient Available for LPG and Natural Gas Free up space in your home We find almost 80% of the time now that we fit the Rheem Integrity – Rheem water heater. Why, they tick the most boxes most of the time. Take a middle aged couple. All the kids have left home, and there is now just 2 people living in a huge home in Auckland. Do they need a 300 litre electric cylinder. Of course not, they are at work most of the time, travel a lot, and mostly the hot water is wasted. Possibly one of them even shower at the gym. However come Waitangi weekend, 2 kids come home with their partners, one has 3 kids. There is now 9 people for a shower over the weekend. Maybe they need 500 litres. Well the Rheem Integrity will heat 500 litres if that’s what is required. No need to wait for a cold electric cylinder. Just pile in one after the other, no problem. Come the following week. The kids and grand kids all vacate, and you’re just heating enough water for ma and pa again. Perfect solution for almost every big old house in Auckland that has just a couple living in it most of the time. THE SECOND MOST POPULAR RHEEM WATER HEATER The 180 litre mains pressure hot water cylinder is still very poular. Why, because they are the most cost effective way of getting mains pressure hot water in almost every case. For many money upfront can be tough. The downside is you will still sometimes run out of hot water. In saying that, for most this Rheem water heater will do exactly what you want it to. And probably 95% of the time. We still install a lot of these in homes that already have one and we are just replacing it. Also for people with a low pressure cylinder that just wish to upgrade to electric mains pressure. They will choose one of these to save money, or possibly because gas scares them. OTHER RHEEM WATER HEATERS LOW PRESSURE RHEEM WATER HEATER OR LOW PRESSURE HOT WATER CYLINDER Day after day we are called to replace leaking hot water cylinders. Many will be Rheem 135 litre low pressure hot water cylinders. These are fitted in a stack of rental properties across Auckland. They are also fitted in a good number of older homes where old people still occupy them. Most young people remove them and upgrade to mains pressure. Are they still good? Well, they heat hot water, and you can get wet in the shower, but that’s all. Most landlords will refit them as they are cheap. They actually work OK if you use an old style Felton shower set. So, yes they work, but depends what you want in a shower, and if you want pressure in the kitchen. If you just want a cheap replacement hot water cylinder, you can get one here… [CLICK HERE] GAS STORAGE RHEEM WATER HEATER These were never installed in mass or super popular, however there’s a few out there, and they do get replaced from time to time. As always, they will not last for ever either. Some areas of Auckland have more than others, but if you do have them, there is 2 basic options for gas storage hot water cylinders. Rheem Stellar – Rheem Water Heater – Replaces the old Vulcan Freeloader Or, if you have a Rheem indoor gas storage cylinder, as the one pictured below, you can replace it with the new model of the same thing. Gas Rheem water heater for indoor use So, if you are looking at replacing your existing Rheem water heater, or upgrading to something better, we can certainly help.
